Sherburne United Church of Christ was founded on July 6th, 1794 by Reverend Campbell and 17 parishioners when our village and town were new frontier lands. We are located in downtown Sherburne, Northern Chenango county. Our "new" brick building is one of the Villages landmarks, was dedicated February 8th, 1883 after a fire destroyed the current building at that time.
As a congregational church the heart of our church lies within the people of our community and those who attend our services and help with our missions. Our multi-generational congregation includes all ages from newborn babies to 92 year old grandmothers. Our church is one where everyone is welcomed as family.
We are an Open and Affirming church, which means any person, group or organization may use our facilities with permission for the greater good. And any individual regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, faith, nationality, ethnicity, marital status, or physical disability is welcome to attend our services and events and pursue membership if so inclined.
We are active in the Susquehanna Association of the New York Conference of the United at Sherburne United Church of Christ. There’s Something for Everyone!
We, the Sherburne United Church of Christ, join in covenant with God, to love God with honor and respect as God loves us with grace and forgiveness.

We covenant with the United Church of Christ to serve the needs of God's people by spreading the word of God's love.
We thank you God for your blessings as we keep this Covenant of the Sherburne Untied Church of Christ.
